2013 Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings

More and more players are passing up the one-and-done redraft league to shift to a longer-term commitment to their fantasy football squads. The rise in keeper and dynasty fantasy football leagues has been remarkable over the past several seasons. Of course, the draft can take on a much different feel in this type of format where proven studs are often overlooked to latch onto a guy with potential to be the next big thing.

Specific keeper rules including the keeper cost (draft picks, auction dollars) and depth (many keeper leagues involve holding 1-2 players where in dynasty you hang on to most or all of your roster) can significantly sway your strategy in upcoming drafts, but for the purpose of this piece, we’ve gotta start somewhere.

In the rankings set below, you’ll find the our top-100 player ranking for keeper and dynasty leagues. These ranks were put together with an eye on the next three-to-five seasons. In shallower keeper leagues (keep 1 or 2 players), your pre-draft list will look a whole lot more like our standard rankings, where an emphasis on the current season. In that scenario, it is really not difficult to find one or two players worth keeping.

In deeper keepers and dynasty leagues, there will be a much stronger emphasis on the quarterback position as this is the most reliable source of scoring year over year. We also prefer fresh legs when it comes to running backs and not only are we willing to pay for youth, but it is also a wise idea to stockpile these young rushers. Again, these rankings are merely a basis for you to begin to tailor your pre-draft strategy as not all keeper/dynasty leagues are created equal.

Finally, if you have yet to dive into the world beyond redraft fantasy football, I strongly encourage you to consider doing so this season.  In fact, Dynasty Sports Empire is forming fresh new dynasty league right now so check us out if you are looking to join another league.
