Phils in Five: Episode 75 – Burned in Atlanta
Posted By:Bretsky on September 19, 2022
Man oh man, the evenings are crisp, there’s football on the TV and the Phillies are collapsing again… IT IS SEPTEMBER. The Fightin’ Phils went down to Atlanta and much like they did last time they played the Mets, failed to live up to any occasion, throwing some cold water on the team’s playoff optimism. That three game sweep is good for losses, 11,176, 11,176 and 11,178 of all time… yikes.

Phils in Five: Episode 73 – A Twirl of the Maton
Posted By:Bretsky on September 14, 2022
Well well well, I step out of town for a few days and my god-awful baseball team with a penchant for losing decides to just go on a little winning streak. After a weekend sweep of the Nats, Nick Maton took Sandy Alcantara deep on Tuesday to give the Phils yet another win, 4 straight and 6 of 7 against a couple of NL East foes so let’s RING THE BELL!!

Phils in Five: Episode 72 – Rhys Buckner
Posted By:Bretsky on September 9, 2022
The Phillies kept it rolling on Wednesday with a 4-3 win turning to Connor Brogdon to eek out a save (DING) but defensive issues reared their ugly head late Thursday as the Phils managed to scored 5 times against Sandy Alcantara but a Rhys Hoskins error in the ninth leading to a blown David Robertson save will be about all we remember from loss 11,174 of all time. Hit that sad trombone.

Posted By:Bretsky on September 7, 2022
A horrific fielding bungled, some MVP hustle.. well sort of, an intentional walk and a walk-off hero. The Phillies are back as Jean Segura led the Phils to a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Marlins to wipe away the stench of an awful road trip. At long last it’s once again time to ring the bell!
In this Episode:

- Nola 10Ks and 200 on the year
- Wed/Thurs Preview
- Should Bailey Falter stick in the rotation?

Phils in Five: Episode 70 – A Little Time Off
Posted By:Bretsky on September 6, 2022
Well, I hope you all enjoyed some time off this past weekend, the Phillies were not only off on Monday but, in fact, failed to show up for the entirety of their west coast road trip. With that odd 18 run explosion against Arizona the only outlier the Phils had an absolute pathetic trip out west capping the week by being swept out in San Francisco over the weekend. Its a 1-5 road trip for the suddenly flailing Phillies. Time to hit the sad trombone for us and Bryce Harper dragging the team down.
In This Episode:
- Add injuries to insult
- Marlins up next
- We can watch the games again (yay?)

Phils in Five: Episode 68 – Snakebit
Posted By:Bretsky on August 31, 2022
HOLY SH*T – The Phillies started off their road trip out west hot putting up seven runs in the first four innings of Monday’s game but, well, things unraveled quickly. The DBacks stormed back with a pair of TDs in the 4th and 5th to surge to a 13-7 win Monday and then walloped Aaron Nola and the Phils 12-3 on Tuesday… outscored 25-3 after the 4th inning Monday and we are stunned, just stunned. That’s losses 11,169 and 11,170 in team history, 7 straight losses at chase field and the regular sad trombone just isn’t gonna do it today. WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP.
