Tuesday is just not our day: the Phillies have lost three straight and seven of their last eight games played on Tuesday. Kyle Schwarber blasted his 22nd homer tie the game late but the Phillies bullpen could not hold and the team fell 5-3 to the Braves, ceding a winnable to their division rivals.

In the words of Phillies radio broadcaster Michael Bourn: OH SH* T! A Blake Snell fastball sent shockwaves through Phillies nation long after many of us on the east coast had gone to bed on Saturday. A high inside fastball caught Bryce Harper on the hand, fracturing his left thumb and sending the reigning NL MVP to the injured list indefinitely. The Phillies did manage to win three of four to close a solid 7-4 road trip, but this was a tough one to swallow.

The Phillies got absolutely WALLOPED on Tuesday night, suffering a 7-0 loss and dropping their third straight game the the Texas Rangers this season as Martín Pérez continued his Cy Young caliber first half. The loss gives the Phillies 11,145 in their history and we’re not gonna sugarcoat this one… it was not good.

Sunday was a bit of a letdown with the Nationals lashing back to win the game 9-3 but not before the Phillies followed up their Thursday victory with a double-header sweep on Friday and an extra-innings win on Saturday. The Phillies won the series 4-1 and registered their fifth straight series win.

The Phillies followed up Garrett Stubbs remarkable walk-off home run on getaway day versus the Marlins on Wednesday with a series opening smashing of the Nationals. Kyle Schwarber clubbed a pair of home runs as Zack Wheeler cruised to a victory to give the Phillies their 12 win in the last 14 games. Ring the Bell!

After a week of respite while the Phillies played some solid baseball, the squad was back to their old Tuesday night antics, turning a would be loss into a potential win and back into a frustrating loss. The offense came to play with Rhys Hoskins following up his first career walk-off hit on Monday by matching a career best with 6 RBI but the bullpen blew a pair of leads and the Phils fell 11-9, loss 11,143 in Phillies history.
